Founded in 2013, Berlin International Brass has lost no time in establishing itself as an important voice in the fabric of Berlin's cultural life. Comprising of four accomplished and passionate young musicians, all drawn to the wealth of musical and creative possibilities of the city, the ensemble is actively forging new paths for brass chamber music.

With a repertoire ranging from little-known renaissance vocal music to the avant-garde, this dynamic group is not shy of a challenge. Committed to expanding the chamber brass repertoire, the ensemble have commissioned and premiered works by Renee Baker (Chicago, USA), Marcelo Nadruz (Brazil), Hazel Leach (UK/Berlin), Elisabeth Angot (France) and Stephen Crowe (UK/Berlin). Horn player Abigail Sanders is also a composer and has written for the group, and all the members also write arrangements.

In addition to regular concerts at home in Berlin, the ensemble have a busy touring schedule, with dates in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Poland and Germany so far. Their debut CD, France and Beyond, featuring cornerstones of the chamber brass repertoire by Poulenc and Bozza, was released in April 2014 to critical acclaim. In 2015, Berlin International Brass were appointed Artists-in-Residence at the Adlershof Weihnachtsmarkt (Berlin). Earlier this year, following a successful performance in Stockholm, the quartet spent a week in Leksand, where they were one of four groups chosen to participate in the Stockholm Chamber Brass Academy.

Ever-eager to awaken new audiences to the delights of brass chamber music, the ensemble offers schools' workshops, children's concerts and coaching, in English and German. Reactions from teachers and pupils have been extremely positive.

Berlin International Brass is available for booking, whether for concerts, festivals, touring or commercial events, weddings or private parties. With a large and constantly expanding repertoire, the ensemble offers something for every occasion.
